Pete takes the pen from Mikey’s fingers and shifts so he’s behind him, pushing the other boy’s shirt up without actually removing it. He scrawls his own secret, just a few lines, on the back of Mikey’s ribs where he can’t see by twisting his neck. The pen is smooth; inky black against pale pale skin, and he can feel Mikey shiver underneath is touch.
